Winner of Theo Paphitis' Small Business Sunday #SBS Twitter Initiative
Theo Paphitis, renowned for being a successful entrepreneur and of UK TV's Dragons' Den fame, began an initiative on Twitter to support small UK businesses. Any UK company could enter the competition on Twitter by tweeting Theo all about their business and to include the #SBS (Small Business Sunday) hashtag. Theo would then retweet his favourite six businesses to his 400,000 followers. GWR Fasteners Limited (@GWRFasteners on Twitter) became winners in November 2012 and featured on Theo's special website for #SBS Winners. Gary and Jude Robinson got to meet Theo Paphitis at his #SBS Event in November 2013 where all the winners met for networking, Q&A with Theo and much more.

Winner in the Shropshire Business Awards for Best New Business 2014
GWR Fasteners Limited won this hotly contested award in July 2014. We had to demonstrate to a panel of judges who visited our work premises that we had strength of vision, evidence of financial success, ongoing product development strategy to secure our long-term future and to show factors which gave our business a sustained competitive advantage.

Winner in the FSB WorldPay UK Business Awards for Innovation of the Year 2014 for the West Midlands Region
GWR Fasteners Limited won this innovation award for their GWR Colourfast®. They went forward to the national UK finals in London in May 2014 alongwith 11 other regions. Companies had to demonstrate what, how and why their service or product was an innovation in the UK.

These inaugural awards celebrated businesses in the whole of the Shropshire region. The Excellence in Innovation award finalists were companies who had developed a new product or idea, a process or way of working that was fresh, different and effective. We demonstrated that GWR Colourfast® is a niche in the marketplace and how it contributes to the success of GWR Fasteners Limited.

GWR Fasteners Limited won Young Business of the Year at the Oswestry & Border Chronicle Business Club Awards in May 2013. As a business less than 5 years old at the time, we had to demonstrate dynamic leadership, innovative product development, a robust marketing strategy, have achieved a tangible level of success and demonstrate a clear and deliverable vision for the future.

This award was open to any company who had developed a new idea, product or way of operating which was completely different. The judges expected to see the impact this had on the business performance and be confident of future plans. GWR won this award for their unique GWR Colourfast® range.
